Notification regarding Conduct of examination for selection of students for the award of scholarships under the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for the Academic Year 2024-25 along with revised Guidelines and Application Form
SCHOLARSHIP_ NOTIFICATION
National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS)- inviting applications from Class-VI (8h)
students
The Jammu and Kash1mir Board of School Ed1ucation (JKBOSE) invites aplications in the prescribed (offline)
fornat from cligible candidates for the National Means-cum-Mcri Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination
2024-25. Intercsted candidates are advised to carefully read the eligibility conditions below before applying
I. Candidates must bc curently cnrollcd in Class 8th for the academic session 2024-25 (in March-April 2024)
in schools of Jammu/Kashmir Division.
2. A minimum of 55% marks in Class 7th is required, with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates.
3. The student must be studying in a Govenment, Government-aided, or Local Body School only.
4. The annual family income of the applicant should not excced Rs. 3.5 lakh.
D. Keservations will be provided to various catcgories as per the reservation policy of the Union Territory of
Jammu and Kashmir.
6. Candidatc must be a permancnt domicilc of UT of J&K
For availing the scholarship
I.
A student must pass both the (ests i.e. Mental Aptitude Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
with at least
2.
40% marks in aggregate (taken together for those two tests), For the sC/ST students, this cut off will be
32% marks.
The duration of the Scholarship is four years and the student will have to score at least S5% marks in Class VII,
60Y% marks in class X (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST candidates) and clear promotion in the first attempt from class DX
to class X and class XI to class XII.
Nunber of scholarships
1068 scholarships will be awarded to the students selected in order of merit and the amount of scholarship is
Rs.12000.00 (Rupees twelve thousand only) per annum per student ie. a total amount of Rs.48000.00 (Rupees
forty-eight thousand) for each selected students from Class IX to XI.
Examination
NMMSS Examination will comprise of two papers.
